EL OJO (K Gibran)

Un dia dijo el Ojo:
-Mas alla de estos valles veo una montaña envuelta en azul velo de niebla. ¿No es hermosa?
El Oido oyo esto, y tras escuchar atentamente otro rato, dijo: -Pero; ¿donde esta esa montaña? No la oigo...
Luego, la Mano hablo, y dijo: -En vano trato de sentirla o tocarla; no encuentro ninguna montaña.
Y la Nariz dijo: -No hay ninguna montaña por aqui; no la huelo.
Luego, el Ojo se volvio hacia el otro lado, y los demás sentidos empezaron a murmurar de la extraña alucinación del Ojo. Y decian entre si: "¡Algo debe de andar mal en el Ojo!"

Durante cierto año ignorado por la historia (K Gibran)

...En ese momento surgió por detras de los Sauces una hermosa niña cuyos cabellos
rozaban el suelo. Se detuvo junto al Joven dormido y pasó su tersa mano
sobre su frente.
El la miró con ojos soñadores como si lo hubieran despertado los rayos del sol.
Cuando advirtió que la hija del Emir estaba de
pie a su lado se hincó de rodillas como
lo hizo Moisés al ver al arbusto en llamas.
Intentó hablar. Las palabras que había abandonado
pero sus ojos llenos de lágrimas reemplazaron a su lengua.
La joven lo abrazó,y besó sus labios;
luego besó sus ojos secando con esos besos
los labios y las lágrimas copiosa del joven.
Con voz más suave que la melodía del caramillo
ella dijo: "Te he visto, amor mío, en sueños;
he buscado un rostro en mi soledad. Eres
el consorte extraviado de mi alma y la otra
mejor mitad de la que fué separada cuando se me
ordenó venir a este mundo.
He venido secretamente hasta aquí para unirme a ti,
amado mío. No temas: tú estás ahora en
mis brazos. Abandoné la gloria que rodea a
mi padre y he venido para seguirte hasta el fin
del mundo, para beber contigo de la copa
de la vida y la muerte.
Ven, amor mío, internémonos en la
selva, lejos de la civilización".
Y los enamorados se internaron en el bosque,
en la oscuridad de la noche, sin temor
a un Emir ni a los espectros de la oscuridad.
